

2LT Richard W. Collins Scholars are the promising young Americans our Foundation is investing in. Currently, that group is made up of college students who’ve been awarded scholarships in Richard’s name and ROTC cadets at the University of Maryland and Maryland’s four HBCUs, but as we expand our work the sources of the Scholars cohort will too.

2LT Richard W. Collins III Leadership with Honor Scholarship program provides $1 million in annual scholarship funding for HBCU students who are eligible for in-state tuition, a member of a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program, and are a minority or member of an underrepresented group in ROTC.

UMD’s Lt. Richard Collins III Scholarship provides need-based support for undergraduate students at the University of Maryland with a preference for students who are members of an ROTC program. This annual scholarship supports students who honor the life and legacy of Lt.
